We are thrilled to announce our first-ever Shine On Award recipient, Rebecca Bryant. Rebecca was selected for embodying Reef’s spirit through her demonstration of these characteristics:
Embrace Positivity: Approach each day with a smile and the determination to make it a good one.
Spread Joy: Bring people together, brighten their days, and make them feel special, just as Reef did.
Face Challenges: Conquer obstacles with unwavering resilience and courage. Reef’s legacy reminds us of the power of teamwork in overcoming challenges and spreading positivity
This quarter, we received 52 submissions that were very thoughtfully written by peers, co-workers and leaders. It is truly inspiring to hear about our teammates from across the company who are making a difference. The committee selected Rebecca Bryant from our Birmingham Orthodontics Alabaster clinic.
Here is the recommendation that we received from Dr. Hartman, “Rebecca remains positive in spite of challenges that come her way and is always willing to help whenever anyone needs anything. She suffered from a stroke last year and she was determined to get back to work. She never complains about the adversity she’s had to overcome and the countless hours she’s had to put into physical and occupational therapy to continue on as an orthodontic assistant. She’s a positive light and we are truly blessed to work with her and have her on our team.”
Jake Sligh, Chief Growth officer also shares this “I’m thrilled to write this recommendation on behalf of Rebecca. She’s a perfect model for this award, especially as its first recipient. It’s exciting to know that the selection committee had also known and felt Rebecca’s impact over these last couple of years before her nomination was even read. Rebecca had a significant medical event at work almost two years ago that caused significant barriers to her speech, mobility, and fine motor skills. There were some scary weeks when her husband and two boys had no idea if their mother would recover. But Rebecca emerged determined and joyful. Rebecca was back to work within weeks taking care of her patients at Birmingham Orthodontics. She attacked her rehab while maintaining her leadership position within the clinic, managing team schedules, supply orders, and continuing to take phenomenal care of her patients. There were times in her recovery when she had to secretly Uber to work, as she never wanted to let her team down. If you walk into the Alabaster clinic, you will be won over by Rebecca’s smile, and her positive and encouraging attitude. She is the epitome of NO BAD DAYS. Rebecca was nominated by her doctor, but her impact is felt among the 80+ Rock Dental employees in Birmingham.”
Congratulations Rebecca! Your beautiful smile and your contributions to Birmingham Orthodontics serve as a reminder for us all to Shine on!
More nominees will be spotlighted over the coming weeks!
